Abstract
The article discusses the history of the text of «Letters of a Russian Traveler» by N. Karamzin as a reflection of cultural processes in Russia at the turn of 18th-19th centuries. It identifies examples of how everyday realities, cultural, historical and political allusions were changing - some of them went down to history, and some became more urgent. Particular attention is paid to the way how the text in the history of «Letters of a Russian Traveler» reflected the dynamics of aesthetic views of the writer. On example of the story of the narrator of the drama of A. Kotsebu «Hate to people and repentance», that have changed significantly in the later editions of the book in comparison with the earlier editions, the conclusion is made about the specifics of the creative evolution of Karamzin at the turn of 18th-19th centuries.

Abstract
The article is dedicated to L. Tolstoy’s elder brother Nikolai Tolstoy whose outstanding personality and striking writer’s talent haven’t yet evoked the philologists’ interest. This is a great flaw of the science that is studying L. Tolstoy’s life and literary works. The problem of N. Tolstoy’s artistic aesthetics is raised for the first time. The author turns her attention to the obscurity of his novel «The hunt in the Caucasus» and three others among the readers and literary scholars. It is explained that he had a large moral and literal influence on L. Tolstoy despite his short life. There are examples of the stylistic similarity and differences in comparison with the “hunter’s notes” by I. Turgenev and S. Aksakov. The paper also reveals borrowings by L. Tolstoy of some plots from his brother’s novels.

Abstract
This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the heritage of the late Rudyard Kipling’s works in the context of artistic trends of contemporary literary discourse. An attempt is made to reveal the specificity of late Rudyard Kipling’s idiostyle transformation and the subject matter of his late works. The research is also focused on consideration of the artistic heritage of the writer not only from the perspective of literary criticism and linguistics, but the philosophy and psychology. Besides, the mythopoetic character of thinking and central in his literary biography religious motif are revealed.

Abstract
In the article, the correlation of motives and images of the book «Pillar of Fire» with some images from oriental and European epos and certain ideas of Russian symbolism is suggested as one of the possible variants of its interpretation. Comparing the motives and images of the book «Pillar of Fire» with the images from Dante's poetry and from the articles of symbolists, the author is not looking for some «protosources» of Gumilev's Ьоок (considering them original), but tries to locate the spiritual space, where common ideas of the time were born and were interpreted in a unique way in the creative work of each poet.

Abstract
In the article, on the ground of previous philological experience the complexes of motives of the book «Pillar of Fire» by Gumilev are revealed. Each complex forms a special semantic space, which reflects the transparent polyphonic plot from the one of the available perspectives. The book by Gumilev is interpreted here as a polyphonic text with moving semantic, which could be fixed by correlating the meanings of the images and motives, appearing in religious, literary and philosophical contexts.

Abstract
In lyrical poetry, N. Karamzin developed two seemingly opposite sense line. The first one is set by the poetic treaty «Giving» (1796) and removes traditional for sentimentalism opposition of the Nature and civilization, that do not deny but presuppose each other on the basis of «feelings» («sensitivity»). At the same time in the program epistles to I. Dmitriyev, A. Plescheyev (1794) and some other, the Karamzin’s lyrical hero not only flies from the civilization, but is consistently disappointed in all aims of his escape: Love, Friendship, Nature, Poetry and Afterlife. The comparison of these two lines shows that the voice of the recluse doesn’t belong to the poet, but is pictured by Karamzin as the result of the collapse of the “Nature - civilization” harmony.

Abstract
The article is devoted to the personality of the writer P. Yakovlev and the publication on the pages of «Literary newspaper» of his little-known novel «An Amazing man». The author traces the biography of the writer, which is closely related to A. Pushkin and A. Delwig - authors of «Literary newspaper». Detailed analyzes of P. Yakovlev’s novel, «An Amazing man», shows an example of the interrelation of social-psychological and historical perspective in the original Russian literature on the pages of the publication. In the novel, P. Yakovlev noted the most important moral and ethical issues that preoccupied Russian society of the first third of the 19th century.

Abstract
The article discusses the place of the poem «Meeting» by N. Otsup in the context of his poetry. On the basis of the composite components, images and leading motives reveal the poet’s concept of wandering and characterize the ideological aspect of the «Meeting». Artistic transformation of protagonist is interpreted as a reflection of the Earth’s path of N. Otsup and his spiritual quest. It is concluded that wandering for the poet is a spiritual category, that is expressed in the sense of grief, love and faith, repentance before the kith and kin, before the spirit of Russia, before the face of God.

Abstract
The article outlines N. Karamzin’s dimensions of perception of identity and heritage of Georges-Louis Leclerc de Buffon, a French scientist and naturalist, who to Karamzin stood next to Voltaire and Rousseau. Karamzin translated a lot of Buffon, mentioned him in his letters, repeatedly quoted his statements on creative work («Style is a man», «Genius is patience,» «Loneliness is the mother of genius» and others), placed information on him in «Envoy of Europe». Karamzin was interested in Buffon’s attitude towards love and creative writing, talent and fame. The historiographer also held philosophical views similar to Buffon’s on the issues of evolutionary development and human cognition.

Abstract
The article is devoted to ethical aspect of the study of literature in the criticism and the philosophical essays of M. Menshikov (1859-1918). In the literary and critical essay “The work of Conscience” (concerning L. Tolstoy’s the article “Inactivity”) (1893) critic gives his understanding of the concept “conscience”, comparing it with understanding of conscience in philosophical journalism of L. Tolstoy of the late period. By means of the category “conscience” Menshikov showed Pushkin s subtext in the comedy Woe from Wit, having pulled together the small tragedy “Mozart and Salieri” with Griboyedov’s play, having given original interpretation of an image of Chatsky, having shown the vision of importance of Griboyedov’s works. In literary and critical essay “The work of conscience” (concerning L. Tolstoy’s the article “Inactivity”) (1893) and “The offended genius (to the 100 anniversary of A. Griboyedov)” (1895), Menshikov confirms the understanding of purpose of art and art works that he had stated in the philosophical essay “Poetry” from the book “Beginnings of life” (1901).

Abstract
I. Kozlov's diary is a unique phenomenon of everyday life and human being in Pushkin era. It was a mirror of psychology and spiritual orientation of the poet that reflected the state of Russian life of that time. Heartfelt reflection of the experience of participation in the Sacraments, the Gospel reading, his spiritual and emotional state, meetings with contemporaries give genre the diary-lyrical pathos. The diary captured the poet’s reading, often defined by communication with V. Zhukovsky, who helped his friend to keep in touch with the outside world.

Abstract
The article describes different points of view on one-member sentences. Attention is drawn to one-word sentences. These constructions are considered as words and as sentences. They get the status of a sentence in the context. In the analysis of a literary text, we take into account the peculiarities of the transition of words into sentences. On a material of works of Russian writers, some features of one-word sentences and their influence on the text are revealed.

Abstract
Making connections in the predicative structure of bisubstantive sentence is diverse and represents a grammatical problem. The principal members of the predictive core in sentences of this type are expressed by nouns that do not have the ability to adapt its form to the form of the defining word in many categorical attributes. The article describes different ways of the predicative connection expression: proper sequence and meaningful sequence. Bisubstantive sentences in terms of communication between the principal members are considered to be consistent, inconsistent and nonconcordial.

Abstract
Article is devoted to the characteristic of codifying role of the Russian language and influence of local Turkic communicative tradition on the history of formation of Dagestan ethnikons and exoethnonyms. So ethnikon dagestanians finally settled in the Russian lexicographic practice by the end of the 20th century, and till 1940s continued to be used along with it his synonymous names lezgi(n) and tavlin(ets). Influence of the codifying role of the Russian language caused also usage of pre-Soviet time Dagestan mountain people’s exoethnonyms: avars, dargins and andies.

Abstract
The article focuses on the previously unexplored patterns in the dynamics and periodization of English lexical influence on the Russian (literary) language of the new time (18th - beginning of 20th century). It is established that in different periods, its impact tends to increase -from a relatively small number of words borrowed in the end of the eighteenth century, to about a thousand lexical items in the beginning of the twentieth century. The authors highlighted the conditions for more intensive influence of English on the Russian language’s vocabulary in the future twentieth century.

Abstract
The present article considers the concept of intertextuality, the relationship between the tense of the borrowed and the main text. Citation clearly indicates a reference to another text, being one of the means of formation of intertextual relations. Basing on the works of I. Bunin we distinguish three types of citations with different sources of borrowing: 1) citations from literature; 2) citations from oral folklore; 3) citations from religious texts. We determine the influence of citation tense on the tense of the prose.

Abstract
The article is devoted to the borrowings of pre-Puskin era. It was found out in the covered period the number of borrowings was relatively insignificant and less than ten words. Only three of them - Turk (Nogai) kizil and Iranian (murava and sardar/serdar) words are direct borrowings, and the first of them belong to the linguistic level, reflected in the “Dictionary of the Russian Academy, located in alphabetical order”. The third (sardar/serdar), despite subsequent fixation in dictionaries of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, including academic 17-volume dictionary, was up to that time just a speech form, exotism. Most of Persian words have also been exotims, but borrowed through the Turkic languages - Turkish (seraskir, chaush, firman) and Kumykian (tuman).

Abstract
The article considers the specificity of the use of individual author’s hyphenated indicative combinations in the context of works of original Northern poetess Olga Fokina. These structures are numerous and various, they make the poetry by O. Fokina close to colloquial speech and open unlimited possibilities of expression. We study the word combinations based on synonyms, and combinations showing a variety of attributes.

Abstract
The article focuses on the interpretation of the fragment of linguistic reality «Flora» in the dictionaries of the Russian language. The article reviews in detail the methods of knowledge representation about plant objects in lexicography and the structure of entries devoted to categories of plants. The author pays attention to presence of grammar and stylistic labels and analyzes the sequence of semantic features in the dictionary definitions.

Abstract
In the article, on the material of Boris Zaitsev’s story «Blue Star», the author highlights a substantive phrase as a special phenomenon, a linguistic unit, which enables a module way of making sentence a complex one. The paper explores how in categories of space, the time filled with events is perceived and conceptualized. It is proved that, depending on the lexical-semantic content of a substantive phrase; on the availability of its distributor; on the meaning and form of verbal predicate, which interacts with a phrase; on the presence of ideas of motion, temporal syntaxemes, temporal adverbs and particles in a sentence, a substantive phrase can express undifferentiated spatiotemporal values.

Abstract
The article considers the principles of semantic analysis of evaluative predicates based on the collocation analysis through the texts of different genres. It helps to find out the differences between these predicates and their synonyms as well as to model the speaker’s outlook on life. The method is based on the philosophical ideas by G. Moore and the method of constructing of perceptive paradigms by L. Cherneyko.
