Abstract
The article raises the problem of the presence and artistic transformation of elements of karamzinizm in the works of Lermontov. Perceived by a poet as a vanishing aesthetic tradition karamzinizm manifested at the level of creation of special lyrical situations and motive-image rows. Along with the karamzinizm’s poetic potential Lermontov learns and rocaille sense of the brevity of life, which entails a kind of tragic Epicureanism. Creatively converted reflection of transience of earthly happiness is replaced by intense search for deep spiritual basis which is able to give back the man the lost fullness of being.

Abstract
The analytical category of the intensive in the syntactic structure of the Russian language is a means of representing the expression, gradation, evaluation. It belongs to the emotional sphere. In the form of the intensive these means are created by the particles как, так, какой, такой - grammatisized pronouns. In Pushkin’s poetic language the forms of the intensive are organically included in a clear syntactic structure of the verse. The grammatical potential of the particles is consistent with the semantics and stylistics of the main component. Bright expressive pictures are created in the poetic text: on the one hand, pictures of approval, admiration, enthusiasm, love, and on the other hand, of censure, blame, resentment, contempt, hate. The article highlights the high degree of evaluation in the intensives that contain words with the evaluative semantics (хорошо, чудно; мила, etc.); repetitions and interjections (Ах! О! Боже!), etc. In Pushkin’s poetic language the forms of the intensive occupy its rightful place as the grammatical and stylistic means of expression, emotion, evaluation, graduation.
