Abstract
Aim. To identify the specificity of the linguistic representation of the natural world in V. N. Krupin’s works.
Methodology. Based on a formalised continuous sampling of the material, we aim to identify the model which the author uses when describing nature. The semantic-stylistic method is used as the main method, which helped to form an idea of the artistic integrity of the writer's perception and understanding of the world of Russian nature.
Results. The article examines the corpus of linguistic units that make it possible to expand the paradigm of functional and semantic features of Russian nature paintings and identifies the main symbols and images that characterise this concept as text-forming and aesthetically significant, directly related to the writer’s worldview.
Research implications. The study of artistic techniques, contextual environment, and syntagmatic connections allowed us to identify individual authorial universals of perception of natural phenomena. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using its materials in teaching such disciplines as the language of fiction, the stylistics of the Russian language, and the possibility of using the results for further study of the idiostylistic features of V. N. Krupin’s prose.
