Peculiarity of the Explication of the Concept of “Friend-Foe” in the Story “Villi” by N. S. Dashevskaya

Abstract
Aim. To characterize the features of the macro-concept “friend-foe” representation means in the novel “Villi” by N. S. Dashevskaya.
Methodology. The analyzed text assumes the application of a conceptual analysis of the concepts of “house” and “kitchen” and the characterization of the means of their representation. In determining the significance of the identified language resources, lexicographic, contextual and quantitative methods were used to display the uniqueness of the “friend-foe” relationship as an idiosyncratic feature.
Results. The study of the representation means of the conceptions “home” and “kitchen” (42 lexemes) confirmed their significance for N. S. Dashevskaya’s representation of the relations of “one’s own” and “someone else’s” as an important category in the formation of the character zone of the work. It is proved that the reliance on general cultural concepts reflected in the background knowledge of the reader familiar with the fairy tale allows the author to saturate the text with conceptually significant associations, to strengthen its aesthetic impact on the recipient due to the connotative component of the idiolect units used.
implications. The theoretical significance of the work relates to the need to study the idiosyncrasies of modern authors of children’s literature. As an idiosyncratic feature of N. S. Dashevskaya, the specifics of the conceptual content of the fairy tale story “Villi” are described for the first time, the place of the concepts “house” and “kitchen” in the structure of the concepts “friend-foe” is determined, which allows us to clarify their significance for the Russian conceptual sphere.
