https://doi.org/10.18384/2949-5008-2023-5-33-39
Abstract
Aim. To describe the taxis functions of some affixed and affixless deverbatives of actional semantics in the aspect of their actualization.
Methodology. The article analyzes Russian deverbatives in –nie / –enie, –tie / –ie and unaffixed verbal nouns, demonstrating full semantic correlation with generating verbs and taxis property. When used with temporal and non-temporal prepositions, they realize the functions of primary-taxis and secondary-taxis actualizers of simultaneity and non-simultaneity. In the course of the study, hypothetical-deductive, inductive and descriptive methods were used, as well as the method of generalization and interpretation of linguistic material.
Results. As a result of the study, it was revealed that actional deverbatives with temporal prepositions implement the function of actualizers of primary-taxis meanings of simultaneity, precedence, following, and combination with non-temporal prepositions – the function of secondary-taxis actualizers.
Research implications. This article explores the issue of taxis functionality of Russian deverbatives, implemented in statements with temporal and non-temporal prepositions. The results of the study make a certain contribution to the theory of taxis. The main results of the study can be used in teaching the theory of language, as well as in conducting special courses on functional grammar.
