Lexical Means of Expression of the Modal Meaning of Thoughtlessness of Action in the Works of I. Turgenev

Abstract
Aim. To investigate the lexical means of expressing the modal meaning of thoughtlessness of action in the works of I. Turgenev.
Methodology. The structural-semantic analysis of the structures extracted by the method of continuous sampling from the works of I. Turgenev is carried out along with the method of generalization.
Results. The result of the study was the identification of modal verbs, semantic type, the identification of features of thesentences structure with the semantics of thoughtlessness and the means of strengthening this meaning in the language of Turgenev.
Research implications. The theoretical significance of the article is determined by the contribution to the methodology of linguistic analysis of the text. The materials of the article can be used in the practice of teaching modern Russian.
