THE MAIN UNITS EXPRESSING DEFINITE OBJECTS OF COMPOUND EPITHETS

Abstract

The article deals with the morphological
variations of objects of epithetation
in epiphrases containing compound epithets
functioning in fiction. On the basis of analysis
the most active lexemes have become revealed
among them, there are both common nouns and
proper nouns, units wide spread in language
and used occasionally, the traditional and inversive
character of their usage is pointed out
depending on the parts of speech. The tendency
of changing of the object of epithetation is investigated
on the field of fiction of XVIII -XX
century.
