THE IMAGE OF THE WIZARD'S HOUSE AS «THE OTHER SPACE» THAT ACCUMULATES SPACE AND TIME AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE IN THE WORKS OF DIANA WYNNE JONES'S

Abstract

Diana Wynne Jones consistently elaborates upon the concept of multiverse in her writing. This concept is reflected in the image of a wizard's house, which is a key element of the writer's literary universe. The wizard's house has a capacity for accumulating different dimensions of time and space, being in the meantime "the other space" of its own. At the same time it appears to be a wizard's fancy, thus enabling the writer to raise the existential question of objectivity
