STRUCTURAL TYPES OF COMPOUND NON-PREDICATIVE TERMS AND FUNCTIONALLY DETERMINED NAMES

Abstract

The article addresses the problem of the co-occurrence of general terminology and, in particular, the process of formation of compound names. It provides a description of the most relevant models of compound non-predicative term formation, the method of word connection in non-predicative compound formations. Two-component formations are regarded as the most wide-spread among the non-predicative compound terminological formations. Word borrowings are distinguished as independent components of a term or a functionally determined name. The article deals with a special group of terms and functionally determined names which represent a combination of nouns either with or without preposition; including pronouns, adjectives and verbal combinations.
