В статье представлен сопоставительный анализ поведения персонажей, живущих по законам ложной жизни, и их антиподов в повестях Л.Н. Толстого «Смерть Ивана Ильича», «Хозяин и работник». Ключевой мотив - лёгкости/ тяжести - относится как к внешнему поведению героев, так и отражает их внутренние установки, причём лёгкость становится знаком веры. Продуктивным при анализе указанных образно-смысловых оппозиций становится обращение к более ранним текстам писателя, подтверждающее связь лёгкости с рождением нового мироощущения.
The article presents a comparative analysis of the behavior of the characters, who live according to the laws of a false life, and their antipodes in the stories of L. Tolstoy «Death of Ivan Ilyich», «Master and Man». The key motive - lightness / gravity - refers to the external behavior of the characters and reflects their internal settings; moreover, the lightness becomes a sign of faith. In the analysis of these figurative and semantic oppositions, reference to earlier texts of the writer becomes productive, and it proves connection of lightness and the birth of a new attitude.
