Цель. Выявить взаимосвязь между прошлым, настоящим и будущим в судьбах героев романа-эпопеи В. Гюго «Отверженные». Процедура и методы. Проанализирован корпус текста. В статье впервые затрагивается вопрос о Провидении применительно к роману-эпопее В. Гюго «Отверженные». Объектом исследования являются 27 примеров употребления этого слова в определённом контексте. При анализе текстового материала используются методы наблюдения, описания и обобщения. Результаты. По итогам исследования сделан вывод, что научная новизна состоит в философском и религиозном обосновании влияния Провидения на поведение персонажей. По итогам исследования установлено, что Провидение как таковое проявляет себя в виде знаков-предостережений, а также в тесной взаимосвязи детерминированных событий. Его действие направлено на создание условий для того, чтобы жизнь героев сложилась благополучно. Теоретическая и/или практическая значимость. Результаты исследования вносят вклад в изучение творчества В. Гюго. Они могут быть использованы при чтении лекций и проведении семинаров.
Aim. The article aims to reveal the relationship between the past, present, and future in the fate of the characters of V. Hugo's epic novel «Les Miserables». Methodology. The corpus of text is analyzed. The article deals for the first time with the question of Providence in relation to V. Hugo's epic novel «Les Miserables». The object of the study is 27 examples of the use of this word in a particular context. Methods of observation, description and generalization are used in the analysis of text material. Results. According to the study results, it is concluded that the scientific novelty consists in the philosophical and religious justification of the influence of Providence on the behavior of characters. According to the study results, it was found that Providence, as Such, manifests itself in the form of warning signs, as well as in the close relationship of deterministic events. Its action is aimed at creating conditions for the life of the characters to develop safely. Research implications. The research results contribute to the study of the work V. Hugo. They can be used for lectures and seminars.
