В статье рассматривается станов- ление Н.В. Гоголя как писателя. Исследуются эта- пы его формирования, влияние на творчество Н.В. Гоголя А.С. Пушкина; объясняются причины обра- щения писателя к христианской тематике. В основу работы положено эссе писателя «Авторская испо- ведь», в котором Н.В. Гоголь рассуждал о своём становлении как писателя. В ходе размышления о своём писательском поприще автор «Мёртвых душ» пришёл к заключению, что истинный писатель тот, который является гражданином своей земли в выс- шем смысле этого слова.
The article deals with the formation of Gogol as a writer, the stages of this formation, Alexander Pushkins infl uence on the works of Nikolai Gogol. The author also explained the reasons why the writer appealed to the Christian subjects. The study is based on the essay Authors Confession, in which Gogol was talking about his development as a writer. In the writers refl ections on his career the author of Dead Souls came to the conclusion that the true author is the one who is a citizen of his land in the highest sense of the word.
